He has a degree in Industrial Design from the Pontifícia Universidade Católica of Rio de Janeiro – PUC-Rio - (1985), an MBA in Marketing at IAG / PUC-Rio - (1991), MSc (1994) and D.Sc. (2003) in Production Engineering from the Universidade Federal of Rio de Janeiro - UFRJ.
He is currently Professor in the Department of Art and Design at PUC-Rio (DAD / PUC-Rio), where he has been Director since 2013. He was Extension Course Coordinator at DAD between 1993 and 2001, and from 2004 to 2013, where he developed several continuing education courses. He created and coordinated the Jewellery Design Specialization in 2001, as well as the Jewellery Design Incubator in 2005.
Since 1995 he has also coordinated the Design Management Laboratory, working in the DAD Post-Graduate Programme (MA and Ph.D.). He published the book “Strategic Design: Industrial Design Integration and Action Within the Companies” in 1995 by the Brazilian Design Program.
He is a member of the Design Council of Development and Economics of the Secretary of State of Rio de Janeiro, where he has developed and curated exhibitions named “Rio+Design” six times in Rio de Janeiro, and in Tortona for Fuorisaloni Design Week in Milan since 2009.
